One Killed in Shooting Near Gahr High School in Cerritos

An investigation is underway in Cerritos, California, after a shooting took place early on Monday morning. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting took place at 2 a.m. on Artesia Boulevard next to an athletic field of Gahr High School. 

Reports state that the victim was sent to the hospital, where he later died. As of now, there are no indications that he had any relation to the school. 

Investigators’ reports say that the incident was a car-to-car shooting, and the suspect involved is still unidentified. Three other people were in the victim’s car during the shooting. They were interviewed after the shooting occurred. 

Gahr High School has been told to close its campus during the ongoing investigation on Monday. The school will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
