Breaking News: 24 Victims Injured in Whittier Crash

Sheriffs’ response to the early morning Nov. 16 accident in Whittier, California. The accident happened off Telegraph Road and Mills Ave. Police set up a barricade on Mills Ave. and Reis St. A perimeter included a residential area between Mills Ave. and Reis St, aside from others.

This morning, Nov. 16, a car slammed into a group of recruits on a morning run off of the intersection of Telegraph Road and Mills Ave. At least 24 victims have been reported to be injured, with 11 of these individuals reported to be in critical condition. 

According to Debbie Orozco, secretary of RHC’s Department of Public Safety, no current RHC students were harmed during this event. It is still unknown if any alumni have been injured. At this time, no casualties have been reported. KTLA reports a 22-year-old male suspect to have been apprehended. 

As of this time, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has not released any information, according to Law Enforcement Technician Kimberly Herrera. Reports said that there were no casualties at this time. Injured recruits are being taken to the USC Medical Center. The 5 freeway southbound was shut down temporarily as well to transport victims quickly.
