Low Income Housing for Rio Hondo Students

Los Angeles County plans to open a new apartment complex in South Whittier. The apartments will replace the former South Whittier Public Library that closed in 2014 after a new one nearly double the size opened in 2016. The goal of this project is to provide low-income community college students with an affordable housing option as they pursue higher education. This is part of the County’s plan to ease stress on college students and one of many new housing projects started in Whittier.
