Workshops for Dreamers

Rio Hondo College always commits to helping undocumented students receive a higher education. The goal is to give Dreamers the tools and information needed to be successful. This is done with guidance councilors, scholarships, and other resources to push Dreamers forward.

Due to this, Rio Hondo will be hosting two workshops to aid students in the upcoming weeks.

The first is the “Know Your Rights!” workshop, which will go over the rights available to Dreamers, as well as what a family should do in case of emergency. It will be held on September 28th from 9am to 11am in the Science Building room S236. Beverages will be available on a first come first served basis and an RSVP for the workshop is available here.

The next workshop is “Pathways for Citizenship”, in contrast to the first workshop this one is split into two parts. In the first section, attorney Acosta will discuss updates to DACA and visas available to crime victims. In the following section, Acosta will discuss the several paths Dreamers can take to achieving citizenship. Both sections will be held in the Science Building room S136, furthermore the sections will be held on 5th and 12th respectively. Finally, the workshop is open to all students, parents, and members of the community. RSVP can be made here.
