It’s not too late to apply for an Associate Degree for Transfer

Attention all students interested in attending college at the university level: the Rio Hondo Transfer Center (located in building SS-250) is still providing their services via the Associate Degree for Transfer program (AD-T) which offers 21 degrees for students (with 60 transferable units) who have completed their major preparation courses and are aspiring to transfer with a deadline of February 17.

Students may come in for a brief meeting with a transfer center counselor – who are specialized in university applications – and acquire guidance for not only filling out their AD-T application, but also become acquainted with a myriad of other related services.

Other provided services include: Calculating transferable GPA (minimum 2.3 for Cal State LA), meeting with an established university representative, providing tours to campuses during spring break (march 28-30), and assist with international/foreign students’ applications.

The Transfer Center also urges students who may have already applied to colleges to also apply for an AD-T as it can provide an avenue for priority registration to universities.

To transfer to a UC or CSU with junior level status, you must complete 60 transferable semester units prior to transferring from RHC. Generally, units must be completed an entire term prior to transferring. For private, out of state universities/colleges, you can transfer with 12-30 units minimum.

Business hours are:

Monday-Thursday: 8am-7pm

Friday: 8am-2pm

Tours include:

Transportation to six North California universities via the Northern California University Tour and interested students need to attend an information session to register for the tour by March 3.

University Representatives will be attending the Transfer center as follows:

Cal State Fullerton Representative: February 14

UCLA Representative: February 14

One more thing to note: if you have attended another university/college your official transcripts MUST be on file with the Rio Hondo College Admissions Office. Your AA-T/AS-T verification will NOT be processed without official transcripts on file.
