University representatives to visit Rio Hondo campus

Students at Rio Hondo College who are interested in applying to California State Universities should know that these universities are currently accepting applications from transfer students and have been since the beginning of October.

In order to be better prepared for the application process, the representatives of various local universities are planning a visit to our campus.

These universities include UC Irvine, UCLA, Cal State LA, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Fullerton.

The appointments for the university rep visits are one-on-one, and are a great opportunity for students to ask questions regarding transfer and obtain information about the colleges they are interested in.

It is recommended that students bring a copy of their transcripts, a list of their extracurricular activities and any awards they may have received.

Aside from receiving information, it also gives students the opportunity to show they are serious about enrolling at the representatives’ respective university.

It is recommended that students bring a copy of their transcripts, a list of their extracurricular activities and any awards they may have received.

This will allow for representatives to review the grades of students and see the student’s overall performance on paper in order to find out what the overall prospect is of the student getting accepted to the university based upon these particular factors.

Representatives will also be able to provide suggestions on what to do to improve their chances of being accepted.

The Cal State LA representative will be visiting Oct. 21 from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cal Poly Pomona, will be visiting the campus on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

UC Irvine representatives will be visiting on Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If anyone is interested in meeting with representatives from these universities privately during the offered times, please visit or call the Transfer Center in order to schedule an appointment in room SS-250, located in the Student Services Building.
