Rio Hondo College offers 16 scholarships, and all of them are available for everyone who is attending the college, including the incoming freshmen.

Students with a minimum GPA of 2.0 are eligible for applying for a specific number of scholarships offered on campus; however, some scholarships such as Jean Korf Theatre Arts Fall Scholarship require a minimum of 3.25 GPA for all applicants.

For freshmen who are new to Rio Hondo, there is an available scholarship that offers $750. It requires students to at least have a GPA of 3.0, and to be currently enrolled in 9 or more units at Rio Hondo.

The applicants should have finished all requirements for incoming freshmen including the assessment test, the orientation and a completed educational plan with their counselors.

Other scholarships are provided to students who participate in specific programs and majors, while others are provided for those who are actively involved in community services or clubs on campus.

The requirement of GPA and units completed in Rio Hondo varies, and all the applications should provide necessary documents when applying. Letters of recommendation are also mandatory for some of the scholarships, and the school should receive all letters of recommendations by Oct. 17 at noon.

All applications for scholarships offered by Rio Hondo are due on Oct. 13 at noon.  Students who are interested in applying should have them completed and submit the applications by then. Do not wait until the last minute.
