Go Rio fee set to go

Rio Hondo’s Director of Government and Community Relations, Russell Castaneda-Calleros wanted to remind students that a new GO RIO fee was put on the four-day Spring 2014 ASRHC Election Ballot that took place on April 21.

The fee of $9 is needed to keep the GO RIO program alive for the next two years. So with a little sacrifice from students the students who use GO RIO can continue to use it.

GO RIO is a program that is partnered with surrounding cities public transportation that is offered to full-time students in good standing that allows them to use a transit pass at a discounted price. This program is helpful to students who do not have regular transportation.

Voters were urged to cast their vote in the election to keep the program alive, especially those with personal stake in the GO RIO program.
