Rio Hondo raises awareness on Sexual Assault

The Associated Students, CalWORKs Program, and RioSource invites Rio Hondo College students to celebrate their commitment to Sexual Assault Awareness and Education by attending their events in April.

The events will take place throughout the month of April on the Rio Hondo College campus and will be available to all students interested in learning more.

An Erase the Stigma Informational Resource Fair will be held in the Mid-Quad Tuesday, April 8, to honor those who have been affected by sexual assault by writing a message.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. they will give out teal ribbons to wear in support of Sexual Awareness month as well as resource and information pamphlets.

On Wed., April 9, a Sexual Assault Awareness Presentation by Project Sister Family Services plans to bring students together in SU 201 to learn about sexual assault and the myths about it from 2 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served for those who attend.

The final event of the month will be National Denim Day on Wednesday, April 23, a day show your support by wearing denim.

They will gather those who participate on the Mid-Quad stairs for a group photo shoot from 12 p.m. to 12:15 p.m.
