New dates set for emergency drills

New dates set for emergency drills

The safety Committee met over the weekend to set dates for the emergency drills that are soon to take place.

By error, students and faculty were informed earlier that the first daytime drill would be on March 12, at 10:17 a.m.

The schedule has now been updated and the first drill will be a nighttime drill on Feb. 26, followed by a second daytime drill on March. 12.

Both drills will be earthquake drills resulting in the usual procedure where students and staff are required to go under their desks and evacuate to their specified emergency assembly areas until further notice.

Like the usual drills, these drills will use the campus alert system that will send alert messages through every computer and phone on and off campus.

It is important to make a note of these drill dates so that classes may be adjusted to account for the missing time.

These drills are required by law to prepare students and faculty for any kind of emergency that can happen at any moment.
