The body of a woman was discovered in a parked car inside the Whittwood Town Center on Tuesday evening in what police are suspecting was of natural causes.

According to Ed Winter, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, the body appears to be that of a Caucasian woman in her 50s. The identity of the woman has not been disclosed and the autopsy is still pending.

Officer Bradley White, spokesman for the police department, stated, “It appears to be a natural death.” He also mentioned that they found no wounds or trauma to the body.

The body of the woman was found in a blue ’90s model Honda Accord that was parked in the 10500 block of Santa Gertrudes Avenue, parked in front of the Thai Table restaurant.

According to police, a passerby noticed the woman inside the car and said the woman looked as though she was not breathing. She called the police at 4:20 p.m. and Firefighters pronounced her dead at the scene.

Officers obtained a search warrant and searched the car and found no evidence the woman was living in her car. According to White, businesses nearby did not notice the car there the night before.

The investigation continues.
