Rio Hondo College was proud to host the seventh annual School is Cool event on Aug. 8,2013. The event was hosted by Carino partnerships for families; which is also supported by SPIRITT family services.

The School is Cool program is funded by First 5 L.A., and is designed to help families prepare for school.

There were many tables set up around campus with information on different programs that are provided, such as CARE  and CALWORKS.

Parents as well as students were able to ask questions and obtain knowledge on how to start the school year off right.

CARINO partnerships handed out backpacks and school supplies to every student who engaged and attended the event.

Families were able to leave the event with a plan and a couple supplies for the school year.
