Scream with excitement! Halloween is in the air! It is literally around the corner. The month of October is a very fun month because of halloween themed costume parties, carving pumpkins and candy!
It is a very interesting month especially when deciding what to wear for these awesome events or house parties. One can get all creative, go all out and others may go simple. However, one aspect about Halloween is dressing up as whatever one chooses which makes it so much fun and that much better.
There are million ideas of what one can be for halloween. For example, there are do-it-yourself inspiration costumes, couples costumes, themed group costumes and the lists goes on and on. In addition, there are helpful sites like Pinterest and Halloween Express to give us a hint/idea of how to make our costumes come to life.
According to U-T San Diego, the average American spends over $77 on Halloween costumes. That is not a shocker since Halloween is such a popular holiday many love to celebrate. It is only celebrated once a year so might as well go big or go home!
According to the Huffington Post, the top ten popular costumes this year are Captain America, Star Lord, Maleficent, Elsa from Frozen, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Orange Is  the New Black, Jon Snow from the Game of Thrones, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead and last but not least Nicki Minaj.
Although, Miley Cyrus’s VMA teddy bear outfit and Robin Thicke’s Beetlejuice attire did not make it on the list, it could be a very popular one among couples. Let’s not forget what else is on the list for Halloween.
Candy! and lots of it for the trick or treaters. Decorations are what makes Halloween, Halloween. From decorating the house, the front and back porch/yard, to one’s work space.
It is very exciting when people get into the Halloween spirit and decorate everything. Candy decorations are a must. For example, candy bags are so fun! Placing candy into a hand glove gives it a more spooky halloween look and placing a spider ring in one of the hand gloves gives it a chilling appearance.
Everything about Halloween is fun especially since it has to do with creativity. Being creative is not expensive.
Pumpkins are another plus as decorations. Pumpkin carvings are an absolute fun activity to do with family or for oneself.
Cleaning out a pumpkin can get sticky but overall, its a pretty quick job depending what carving design is being done on the pumpkin.
Pumpkin carving designs can be as simple as carving cat eyes and a squiggle-ly mouth and exceeding to  artistic celebrity faces, President Obama, Disney characters to unique yet, terrifying detail oriented masterpieces of carvings.
Halloween is such a fun holiday to celebrate since its a holiday to be whomever you want and have fun doing it. Nothing says welcome like a home with Halloween decorations throughout the the house/yard and pumpkins lined around the walkway and front porch of the house.
