Songs to listen to to get into the Christmas spirit

   1. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey

This is the most iconic song for christmas. It is a must listen to, especially to start the month of December or like many, right after Halloween. Mariah Carey along with Michael Buble  are the rulers of Christmas.

2.  “Last Christmas” by Wham!

This as the one before is iconic. Have you experienced heartbreak, did you have an amazing Christmas last year together, but for this year she, he, or them All to welled you? Well if your answer is yes. Last Christmas is for you. This song makes you want to dance, cry, and scream sing it, as you think of how many times your past loves betrayed you, listen to this song as you find love again and better this time.

 3. “White Christmas” by The Drifters

Specifically by The Drifters I know many of us live in California and unless we go to the snow it’s never a White Christmas in southern california, but it’s the thought that counts.  I said specifically by The Drifters because when the song goes I I I I it just gives a different feeling. It is perfect and will definitely lift the mood.

  4. “Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!” By Dean Martin

Dean Martin the king of cool and also one of the kings of Christmas. This song has been sung by many, but this one just makes you feel like you’re shopping at a Jcpenny for a last minute dress with your mom, dad or anyone for christmas. It just plays in the back of your mind regardless, so better to listen to it during Christmas.

 5. “Christmas Is All Around”

I feel it in my fingers. I feel it in my toes. This is from the movie “Love Actually”   and is a favorite Chritsmas movie for many. But who doesn’t think of this song by “Billy Mack” when thinking about Christmas songs. Sadly on the Love Actually soundtrack it can’t be found. I was able to find another cover by Brad Callow on Spotify.

6. “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms

The Mean Girls scene has made this song more iconic, not that it already wasn’t. But it does add the sparkle. Jingle Bell rock will get anyone who is sad out of their bubble and will even help them do the white man smile, you know the one. Jingle Bell Rock is just one of those songs.

  7. “Los Peces En El Rio” by Pandora

If you grew up in a Latino household you know exactly who Pandora is or this song specifically. This is about the Virgin Mary and Jesus, yes it is more on the religious side of  a christmas song. But it doesn’t take away that it is in fact an amazing song.

8. “Mi Burrito Sabanero”

Another song for those who speak or understand spanish, or you don’t and are just trying to listen to new christmas songs. This is the one. Mi Burrito Sabanero has been played since I can remember in my household when Christmas was right around the corner. This is another semi- religious one, but it will honestly lift your mood and get you in the spirit.

9. “Campana Sobre Campana”

This song is another Spanish song, but is it Christmas without bells? I don’t know, it’s still an amazing song and will help the spirit of Christmas.

10. “Happy Xmas” by John Lennon, and the Harlem community choir

Happy Xmas is in the sad category of Christmas songs, but something about it being sung by John Lennon and him telling us to have fun is the best thing. Yes it will make you feel a little guilty if you didn’t do anything this year, but hey there’s always next year.
