Disney releases opening date for Pixar Pier

On January 8, Disneyland said goodbye to Paradise Pier and hello to Pixar Pier. California Screamin’, Ariel’s Grotto, and The Cove Bar are closed to make room for the four new neighborhoods.

The four new neighborhoods will represent Disney-Pixar stories. The center of Pixar Pier will be the Incredicoaster. This new coaster will have everyone’s favorite characters and new ones. New lighting and special effects will add to the high speed adventure as you chase baby Jack-Jack. The roller coaster will connect the old movie with the new Incredibles 2 that comes out in theatres June 15. Surrounding the Incredicoaster will be neighborhoods like Toy Story and the newest addition, Inside out. Mickeys’ fun wheel will have a new look to it. The 24 gondalas will be inspired by different Pixar characters. Mickey Mouse will still be the center of the wheel.

New neighborhoods isn’t all Disneyland is getting. New parades and firework shows are making it’s way to Disney. The Pixar Play Parade starts out how every Pixar movie starts, with the lamp.

The parade will go through Disneyland with light shows and musical themes. Everyone’s favorite characters will be on the floats as they make their way through Disneyland. The new firework show will make everyone feel like a kid again. Together Forever will have new muscial themes and as the fireworks blast in the sky, scenes will go on the castle. You will get to see the journey of your favorite Pixar characters. California Adventure will get a parade as well. The one is a classic. Paint the night parade will make its way back to Disney California Adventure Park. The amazing colorful and lights shows will light up the streets of California Adventure.

Mark your Calenders for June 23 as Pixar Pier is set to open. The new parade’s and firework show will come to Disneyland at April 13.
