The Rio Hondo art gallery is set to host the art exhibition SUR: Biennial once again this fall beginning Oct. 8.

Sur: Biennial is the first art exhibit in Los Angeles to focus on local contemporary artists who have descended, lived, worked, and/or have been inspired by countries south of the U.S. border.

The exhibit is mutually held among a variety of locations throughout Southern California, including other college campuses such as Cerritos College.

The exhibit was held here last fall and had a positive reception bringing in a variety of art enthusiasts, students, and visitors to witness the contemporary art primarily based on Latino heritage.

A reception and artist talk will also be held on Oct. 9 from 7 pm – 8:30 pm.

The exhibit will run until Nov. 15 and is free for both Rio students and visitors.

The gallery will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 am – 3:30 pm and Monday though Wednesday evenings from 6 pm – 9 pm.
