The month of October will be featuring two different events here at Rio Hondo that will be taking place at the Wray Theater.

The first event slated to take place will be the Communications Department’s Advanced Screening of “Bordertown” on Oct. 15.

“Bordertown” comes from the creators of popular Fox cartoon “Family Guy” and follows two families living on the US-Mexico border.

Cartoonist/writer Lalo Alcaraz will provide opening remarks at this advanced screening.

The advanced screening will take place at 10 a.m. and will be free of admission.

This event will be followed up by Rio’s Halloween Film Fest which will be held on Oct. 17.

The film festival will screen classic (and family-friendly) Halloween movies and cartoons and will begin at 2 pm.

There will also be a costume contest with prizes for children in attendance and will be free of admission.
