Theater department presents “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”

Rio Hondo’s Performing Arts Department is presenting the musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the Wray Theatre on July 25 through the 27 at 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. on the 28.

With lyrics written by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber ( who also did the music for the successful musical, The Phantom of the Opera) and direction by William Korf, Debra De Liso and Linda Brown this musical will surely be entertaining.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” follows the popular biblical story about a father, Jacob, his 12 sons and his preference for one of his sons, Joseph. Joseph’s siblings are jealous of his coat of many colors, a symbol of their father’s preference. When Joseph begins having dreams of one day ruling over them, his brother’s try to get rid of him and end up selling him as a slave to Ishmaelites and is taken to Egypt.
