Same-sex Still Being Discriminated Against?

I myself have experienced this gross feeling of people who hate and doesn’t agree with same-sex marriage, giving a glare of why in their eyes. It just feels terrible. It just might go against their belief but hate is still hate and I thought Christians were all lovey-dovey with everyone no matter what their skin color was, race, nationality, etc.

When I think about how same-sex couples are treated, I think they’re treated bad throughout the world in both liberal and conservative societies. There are still a lot of people who don’t mind them like Willie Nelson who said “I’ve known straight and gay people all my life. I can’t tell the difference. People are people where I come from.”

From this, I know that it’s true because I’ve experienced it myself. When I find out that a friend of mine turns out to be gay, sometimes it’s a surprise because you can’t tell.

From this, I can input the experiences that I received whenever I go about my daily life and read articles on same-sex events or people who are against it. Here’s a bit of information about me before I start dawdling about my perceptions in how same-sex couples are treated or viewed.

I have known about my own sexual orientation for a long time now since 2011 because of an external force that had helped me reach a decision in which defined my ‘sexual’ orientation as a person.

To someone else, that might seem to be a short amount of time, but it was the experience that I have gained as a gay person myself, in the same-sex relationships department. In this department, I have only engaged in at least four relationships and when I mention relationships, I mean someone that I know that I might have had a future with and live in a house with and the whole shebang that married couples get to do.

Now onto the real meat. In the world of religions and same sex-couples, same-sex couples face discrimination in many different ways. They experience hate and the various other views that a person believes in.

For example, a bigoted Christian might mention that fags should burn in hell through posters or media or even with speech. The reason why I mentioned a bigoted Christian is because these are the type of Christians that take and use the wrong words presented by the book called the bible.

How do they, the said Christians use it wrong? They perceive or manipulate how they want to see how gays should be represented from the book. How do I know this well enough to talk about it?

Well from my knowledge of dealing with Christians throughout the Internet, some tend to choose what they want to take from the bible and use it to excuse or give their input on a subject. And when I go into an argument with Christians over the Internet or media about it, some Christians stand by my side and agree that the book doesn’t really want to spread hatred and instead go by the saying “love thy neighbor,” in which a lot of these hate-exuding Christians need to live by because it is pretty detrimental and daunting that gay couples have to deal with this nasty behavior presented to them, as if gay people are not of the norm.

I thought that all people were accepted with no hatred in mind, but nope, these bigoted Christians treat same-sex couples like the devil and usually will not have any consideration towards their feelings even though we’re all just humans, we just have different likes.

It’s like saying, “Oh you like chocolate? Well I hate chocolate okay?!” But that doesn’t mean that I hate the other person as a whole, whereas Christians may hate a person as a whole if they were a gay-couple. Another example of why they disdain same-sex is according to unsettledchristianity.com, “Homosexuality does not offer the stability of a traditional family,” which in my opinion isn’t true because you see same-sex couples adopting children and starting perfectly healthy, normal families of their own all of the time. Same-sex couples with children can be seen on the television and in society in general. Same-sex couples have families that are no different than opposite sex families.

Some people are actually fine with this. They don’t have to be the love thy neighbor Christians, they could be just anyone. It does make me happy though, that there are people who are caring and don’t care about what the other persons’ sexual orientation is. I wish that one day, that there will be less hatred towards each other in the world and peace amongst each other will eventually come to fruit.
