Rio Hondo Forensics Speech and Debate team co-hosts annual CalRio Forensics tournament

The Rio Hondo Forensics Speech and Debate team co-hosted the annual CalRio Forensics tournament with California High School in Whittier, on Friday, November 4th. Hundreds of students from nine high schools including La Puente, La Serna, Gabrielino and New Design Charter School Watts, competed against each other, along side middle school and Rio Hondo College students.

The tournament featured various competitive speaking events. Over a hundred Rio Hondo College students served as tournament staff and judges. Forensics Coordinator, Libby Curiel served as Tabulation Director and Debate Specialist, Grant Tovmasian served as Ballot Director.

The Forensics team also concluded their public proposition debates on Monday, November 7th. Students debated all the California propositions, which appeared on the November 8th ballot. The Forensics team now prepares for the Grossmont College tournament November 18th-November 20th in La Mesa, CA.
