Club Rush

Rio Hondo College hosted their Club Rush and Student Service Fair for the fall semester. It occurred Sept. 5 and 6 from 10a.m.-1p.m. on the Rio Breezeway between the Rio Cafe and the Wray Theater.

Members from most of the clubs on campus attended Club Rush, which included, Creative Writing Club, One Less Victim Project, ACT, SWB, Puente Club, One In Christ Newman Club, BBQ Club, KInesiology & Sports, PBL, Veteran’s, AGS, Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), ASEA, Sports Medicine, Super Gamer Bros., GSA, Latinos United for Voting (L.U.V.), Vocal Alliance, Association of Latino Americano Students (ALAS), Asian Club, and Sociology Club.

Some clubs were fundraising during Club Rush. ACT were selling Arizona’s Iced Tea for $1, Puente Club were selling small bag of chips for 75 cents, PBL were selling candy bars for $1, Veteran’s were selling water for $1, and a slice of pizza for $2, AGS were selling “Jamba Juice” for $4, ASEA were selling nachos for $1, and L.U.V. were selling cupcakes for $1.

Representatives from all the services that are offered at Rio Hondo were also attendance of Club Rush. The Departments in attendance were CalWorks, Career Development Center, Continuing Education, Counseling, Disabled Student Services, EOPS/CARE Program, Foster Kinship Care, Foundation/SCholarships, Go Rio Bus Pass/Ryder Relief, Health Office/Psychologial, Student Support Services, Transfer Center, and Veterans Service Center.

Gay and Straight Alliance member’s Nick R. Gutierrez, Elijah Guillen (Secretary), Andrew Quinones (President) and Keith McDade welcome all types of students to join the GSA, straight, gay, male, female no one will be turned away!
