For those of you who love Halloween haunts the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor is a must see. It’s an event unlike any other around the Los Angeles area. The legend of Dark Harbor is that on nights during the Halloween season, the spirits haunting the ship come out of hiding and temporarily reclaim the boat and surrounding harbor.

As you enter Dark Harbor’s carnival atmosphere you will notice roaming monsters, rides and a stage featuring music and a variety of shows. Dark Harbor hosts both live bands as well as DJs throughout the event, which adds a party atmosphere to this spooky horror event. There is also a large variety of food and drinks available.

Dark harbor features six mazes the first being, Circus, a maze focused on clowns, illusions and of course the sideshow freaks.

The second maze is Deadrise, a WWII ship that had helped guide The Grey Ghost through enemy-infested waters and ended up sinking. Out to reclaim their dark harbor in the deadrise are the captain, ghost and its passengers.

The third and returning maze is Soulmate, where Graceful Gale lures potential suitors so she can reassemble them into the perfect man with her charm. Once you’ve caught the eye of Graceful Gale, there is no escaping so beware!

The fourth is B340, this maze takes you into a schizophrenic sojourn into the psychotic mind of Samuel the Savage. Small spaces, darkness mixed with beaming lights and pulse-pounding noises that would drive anyone to the brink of insanity.

The fifth is Voodoo Village, as you enter the bayou of brutality it has been overrun by the traveling gypsies of the Ringmaster’s Circus and they don’t like visitors.

Voodoo Village takes you through a maze of sinister spells, macabre ceremonies and evil spirits.

Last but not least is the newest maze at the Queen Mary the Lullaby maze. Hush little baby don’t say a word, ring around the rosy, a pocket full of nightmares! This maze takes the visitor on a spine-tingling trip through the story of little Scary Mary. Gone, but certainly not forgotten, Mary is looking for playmates to join her on the other side of hell.

Three of the mazes are located inside the ship on the bottom portion, which is abandoned. The other three mazes are located on the harbor.

This year they have some new additions to the event such as the new Lullaby maze featuring Scary Mary, The Curse of Anubis: Paintball Adventure, Side Show of Freaks & Oddities, and Big Top Bar with Bubbling Absinthe Potions.

Dark Harbor will run now until Nov. 1 and is open Thurs.-Sun. General Admission tickets are available online and prices vary from $24 to $39 depending on the night.
