DIY Face Mask & Lip Scrub

Bananas are filled with vitamins and potassium which have multiple benefits on the skin such as keeping it hydrated, brightened, and also helps delay the aging process.

For those of you who love treating your skin you’re going to love these easy DIY recipes. Buying face products in stores nowadays can sometimes be expensive and if you love organic products such as the ones sold at Lush or the Body Shop you can learn how to make your own similar products by using the ingredients you already have at home.

The first recipe is a banana face mask. Bananas are filled with vitamins and potassium which have multiple benefits on the skin such as keeping it hydrated, brightened, and also helps delay the aging process.

For the face mask you will need:

  • 1 ripe Banana
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp. Honey

Directions:

  1. Take your banana and mash it with a fork in a bowl till it forms a smooth lump-free paste
  2. Add 1 tsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of lemon juice and then begin to mix the ingredients together
  3. Wash your face with soap and use a soft towel to pat it dry
  4. Rub the mask into your face, using clean fingers. If needed apply a second layer to make the ingredients penetrate deep into your pores
  5. Wait for 10-15 minutes and wash your face with lukewarm water without using any soap this time and you’re done. Your face will be left with a radiant glow!

 

The second recipe is a sugar & olive oil lip scrub. Exfoliating your lips helps remove dead skin cells and retains the moisture in your lips. Using sugar helps restore your skins moisture balance and the olive oil adds glow to the skin.

For the lip scrub you will need:

  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • ½ tsp. Olive Oil

Directions:

  1. Mix ½ teaspoon of olive oil with 1 teaspoon of sugar until it becomes a paste consistency
  2. Massage the mixture onto your lips using either a toothbrush or just your finger, continue to do so for 2-3 minutes
  3. Wipe the excess off your lips using a warm towel or warm water
  4. Apply any hydrating lip balm and you’re done. Your lips are left soft and exfoliated!
