The Truth Music Tour makes a stop at the Praise Chapel in Whittier

God Over Money Records artists Mark Julian Felder also know as “Bizzle” and Marques Adams “Sevin” headlined the Truth Music Tour that made its Los Angeles stop at Praise Chapel in Whittier on April 2. Hundreds of people came together to set an atmosphere uncommon to most rap concerts.

Los Angeles native Bizzle was raised between his mother in Cudahy and his father in Compton and is very familiar with growing up in the hood while listening to Tupac.

After putting out five mixtapes, he finally got his break and the opportunity to open for Lil’ Wayne and Juelz Santana during their “I Can’t Feel My Face” tour. During the hustle of trying to move his music, Bizzle turned to selling drugs and pimping, even though he knew God was dealing with him, and what he was doing was wrong.

Eventually, he surrendered to God and answered to that still-small voice. Shortly after, God Over Money Records was birthed.

With an inside look of the rap game, Bizzle began to expose the dark side of the music industry by rappers like Kanye West, Rick Ross and Jay-Z. In 2010, on the track “xplaining To Do,” Bizzle addresses Jay-z for mocking Jesus in his lyrics and the truth about the music industry.

Bizzle’s latest album, “Surrender,” reached number eight on the Billboard chart for Christian Albums, number nine on the Billboard chart for Independent Albums and number 13 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums Chart.

Rapper Marques Adams also known as “Sevin”.

Sevin grew up in the gang-infested streets of Sacramento, where murders, drive-bys, and drug dealing is the norm.

It’s no surprise that Sevin became a product of his environment and at a young age, found himself entangled in what everyone else around him was doing. As a Blood Gang member with no remorse or regard for life, he was on his way to a life of jails, prisons, institutions and drug addictions, until he faced death, eye-to-eye.

Sevin fully understands the snare the streets set for youth of America and how hard it is to get out, once you’re caught up in the web of the street life.

The 34-year-old ex-gang member is now a Christian rapper and also the founder of Hook’d On God / Ministry Ova Bizness Ministries, also known as HOGMOB Ministries.

It has been said that life and death are in the power of the tongue and so much of today’s rap music has a negative message.

Instead of enticing people to the life that Sevin came from, he shares the key to how he got out and now leads people to God.

These two highly-anointed and lyrically-gifted artists bring a message of hope to those who feel that there is no way out from a life on the street. Or if you’re just tired of being lied to by rappers who talk a lot about things that they don’t do, then check out Bizzle and Sevin at godovermoney.com and listen to some “Truth Music”.
