Take a ‘Lawless’ Ride

In this true tale, the three Bondurant brothers illegally bootleg liquor successfully with a friend’s bar acting as a front to their outlawed business, in Franklin County, Virginia during the 1930s.

The middle brother, Forrest Bondurant, is played by Tom Hardy an English actor, who recently gained notoriety for his role as “Bane,” the villain in this summer’s blockbuster “The Dark Knight Rises.” Hardy like always did an honest job but, just like how some moviegoers felt about his take on “Bane” in “Lawless” he struggles with some dialogue.

Australian actor Jason Clarke plays Howard, the eldest of the brothers. The youngest sibling, Jack is played by Shia LaBeouf who is mostly known from the “Transformers” films and as the nutty kid from Disney Channel’s “Even Stevens.”

A fierce special agent named Rakes, played by Guy Pearce, has cracked down on all the bootleggers and demands a cut of the profits from everyone breaking the law to make moonshine.  As for those who didn’t agree to the terms, well, they received punishments which were cruel and unusual to say the least.

The Bondurant brothers don’t take the proposal lightly,  as they refuse to stand by and let someone take their money, while on their way to the American dream.

Experienced actor, Gary Oldman, plays mobster Floyd Banner who is ruthless and is emulated by the young and not wise Jack.  Stunning actresses, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain play a dancer turned waitress and a daughter of a preacher, respectively.

These western gangsters prove time and time again that they will not be threatened by anyone, and their loyalties to each other are tested and proven countless times throughout the movie.

This dramatic country western film will take you back to the early 1900’s while keeping you at the edge of your seat the entire time.
